How We Match Our Dedication with Action
Our dedication to being eco-friendly is not only something we believe; we take action to affirm it. Here are some green initiatives we have taken to ensure our clinic is an eco-friendly green space:
- We have furnished our clinic with biodegradable paper drinking cups, including biodegradable bottles for our branded water.
- We’ve prioritised using 3D scanners to take impressions over plastic impression materials and impression trays.
- Our clinic only uses low energy light bulbs.
- We have manufactured our PPE, which is washable and not plastic.
In addition to the above, our team established a dedicated recycling centre in our clinic. This centre ensures that no glass, plastic or paper goes into the clinic’s dustbins. Instead, this recyclable waste is reserved for the specialist company that collects it regularly from our clinic.

Our clinic sells Humble Co.’s eco-friendly product range to our patients. Humble Co. produces exceptional products that include bamboo toothbrushes, natural and charcoal-infused toothpaste and sustainable floss picks.
Selling these products not only ensures we empower our patients with quality sustainable alternatives but positively impact disadvantaged communities too. A percentage of the profit generated from product sales goes to the Humble Foundation, which helps underprivileged children in South Africa.
Dr Bowes is a global ambassador for the Humble Smile Foundation, a group of like-minded individuals and organisations committed to building a better world for people and our planet. The foundation invests in projects and initiatives that educate and equip disadvantaged communities to enhance their oral health and overall wellbeing.
